David Adams has provided research and advice on energy efficiency, building systems, materials, and cost analysis to architectural and construction clients since 1991. In 2008, he founded Buildings & Energy to provide energy efficiency and solar energy consulting services to architects, developers, building owners, retail tenants, and non-profits.
David holds a Master’s degree in Project and Systems Management from Golden Gate University, where his focus was on project finance, project development, and computer simulation for financial modeling. He is also a graduate of the Institute for Generative Leadership.
He has worked in residential, commercial, and light industrial sectors for 30 years and was chosen by leading American architects for their most demanding projects. His work has appeared in the pages of Architectural Record, House Beautiful, Metropolitan Home, and Sunset.
David is the co-author of Financing Growth: Will Solar PPAs shine in dark times? by David Adams & Jon Guice available at AltaTerra.net. In April 2009, he published U.S. Commercial Solar 2008 – Year End Report available for download at BuildingsAndEnergy.com. His speaking engagements include Infocast presentations on solar finance and solar industry trends.
David Adams is an avid sailor, father, grandfather, husband, Habitat volunteer, and a retired volunteer captain and EMT with a northern California fire department.
